What FXPathway is and why it exists

Cross-border money transfers are expensive in ways that aren't obvious.

Banks charge exchange rate markups that don't appear as fees. Comparison sites often rank providers by affiliate commission, not actual cost. And most guides use vague language that makes it hard to know what you'll actually receive.

FXPathway exists to cut through that.

Who built this

I'm an engineer with a background in fintech who moves money between the UK and Spain regularly. The frustration wasn't finding providers — it was finding honest, structured comparisons that explained tradeoffs rather than just ranking things. So I built FXPathway.

This is an independent project. Not backed by any transfer provider, financial institution, or investment.

How we approach comparisons

Rate transparency over fee transparencyThe exchange rate margin is often the largest cost in a transfer. We always factor in the rate used, not just the listed fee.
No sponsored rankingsAffiliate relationships are disclosed clearly. They do not influence how providers are compared or ordered.
Tradeoffs over verdictsWe don't declare a single "best" provider. We explain the tradeoffs and let you decide.
Ranges where certainty isn't possibleFees and rates change frequently. Where we can't give a precise figure, we use ranges and explain the variables.

Where the site is going

Current focus is GBP → EUR transfers, starting with the UK → Spain corridor. This will expand to include additional corridors, a cost calculator, and structured comparison tools.
